Kitchen and Garden program
Our kitchen gardenprogram provides students in years 3-7 the opportunity to grow, harvest and cook their own produce, while learning about environmental sustainability and nutrition.
Students actively participate in the full cycle of food production:
Our kitchen and garden facilities include a fully-equipped 5 bay kitchen, vegetable gardens that meander around the school, herb gardens, an orchard, and our henhouse affectionately known as “Cluckingham Palace”.
The students love feeding scraps to the school’s chooks and collecting the eggs which are used in the fortnightly kitchen and garden classes. Families also enjoy buying our fresh produce and baked goods, which are available from our kitchen garden stall Thursday afternoons after school.
